You do know what inertia is? Let me define it :
Inertia is the tendency of an object at rest to remain at rest unless influenced by a force. It is also the tendency of an object in motion to remain in motion unless acted on by a force.
Both kinds of inertia when associated with the human condition can keep an aspiring marketer from succeeding.
Read the discussion of both below:
The first kind of inertia- the tendency of a person inactive to remain inactive- is probably the most common enemy to success. It sounds something like this:"I sure would like to be able to make money from home...maybe have an internet business.
But I don't know if I could figure it all out. I really don't know much about computers...I'd like to have a web site but ...
Maybe I'll try it one of these days...I'm not really a salesman...
This type of inertia is only overcome by jumping into the pool. You cannot afford to wait until you have it all figured out or you'll never start. Guess what? You'll never have it all figured out, but if you're willing to start, you can make money along the way.
Even the gurus are learning daily.
Take the following steps to overcome your inertia.
• Approach internet marketing as a journey and not a destination. A journey is taken one step at a time. All you have to focus on is the present step. The present step and the momentum gained by taking it will define your next step. Note: The greatest help to figuring things out is momentum. Once you start moving, things will become evident that were invisible from the " stop sign".
• Determine your product niche
• Commit to a definite start date and time. Write it down. Keep it!
• Start by picking and registering a domain . Once this is done, it defines your next step which is setting up a hosting account...and so on, and on
• Once rolling never look back. Write down tomorrow's step after you finish taking today's step
• Again NEVER LOOK BACK. You'll make mistakes, but at 100 miles per hour, your momentum will carry you beyond your mistakes.
The second type of inertia is the kind that more experienced marketers might face. This inertia is fed by unwillingness to learn and change to stay up with the times. It's fueled by pride-"I like my squeeze page and I'm not going to change it" - even though it's not pulling as much as it should
"But it's a great looking site"." I'll give it another month or two..." Note: The fly buzzing around in the window never escapes by doing the same thing over and over again.
Take the following approach to overcome this type of inertia.
• Do an honest evaluation of your present site's success. If it's not producing, change it or move on.
• Measure everything you do by how much money it makes
• Don't be loyal to your present site or ads. Be loyal only to your success.
• Test and tweak. Test and tweak. Test and tweak. Be ruthless.
• Be aware that by changing and moving ahead you only have your present unsatisfactory results to lose.
• Learn more, learn more , learn more. Keep educating yourse
